Sigma has announced a brand new full-frame mirrorless 70-200mm f/2.8 pro telephoto zoom specifically for Sony FE mount and L-mount cameras. It’s a flagship product designed to compete head on with own-brand 70-200mm zooms from Sony and Panasonic but at a much lower price.
Sigma
Sigma is probably best known as a lens maker, supplying a wide range of high-quality lenses for mirrorless cameras and, to a lesser extent these days, DSLRs. Sigma also dabbles in camera manufacture, making the clever but odd Sigma fp and fp L and also dabbling with its own multi-layer Foveon sensor technology.
Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN | C now comes in Fujifilm X-mount
The Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 DC DN | Contemporary is already available in a Sony E-mount version, where it makes a portable and affordable constant aperture standard zoom for Sony’s APS-C cameras. Well now Sigma has launched an X-mount version of this lens, which could be a great option for Fujifilm owners who want to step up to a constant aperture f/2.8 pro-spec lens without the weight and expense of the Fujifilm XF16-55mm.
